Handbell Sheet Music to Accompany Congregational Hymn Singing

As handbell choir director, I was searching for ways to have the choir members more involved in our corporate worship services. So I started arranging hymns for the bells to accompany the congregation singing. I share this handbell sheet music with you so your bell choir can also be more involved in your worship services.

All these hymns are in public domain; my arrangements are in public domain. There are no copyright issues for you to deal with in order to use this music. Simply select the sheet music file you want, download it, print it out, and make as many copies as you need. The arrangements are based on Lutheran Service Book, so the names below start with the hymn number.  The list below also identifies the hymn tune name; the number of bell octaves and other instruments used in the arrangement.  If applicable, information about Hymn of the Day will also be included.

Check back periodically for more songs. If you don’t see a hymn you need and want it soon, send me a message via the Contact Me page.  We’ll then talk about options in getting that done for you.

If you benefit from the free hymn arrangements posted here on WordPress, please consider making a donation to the music ministry of Faith Lutheran Church, 3000 Northwest Loop, Stephenville, TX  76401.

  1. Thank you so much for these! I have a hard time finding calls to worship and benedictions for my hand bell choir, since they usually just need to be about 20-30 seconds long. One verse from almost any of these works perfectly. I will talk to our finance person about making the requested donation. Thank you again!!!

    • Birdie,

Thank you for your comment. I’m glad to know you’re finding a different use for these arrangements. The Word of God speaks to us in many and varied ways; and when music is based on His Word, our music will also!

      And thanks for the donation.

May He bless you and your choir in your ministry.

      Arnold

  2. Thank you for taking time to help others like me that are in search for christian music for bell.
God bless you! from the island of Puerto Rico

  3. I want to personally thank you for making these songs available. We are just starting out in hand chimes and these have been a blessing. Thank you again for sharing.

    • Roxanne,

Thanks for visiting my site. It is good to know other choirs are finding the songs useful in their ministry.

May the Lord bless you and your choir as you lead your congregation in singing His praises!

  4. Arnold,
Thanks you so much for making your arrangements free and accessible and for sharing your talents. The key change to “Holy, Holy, Holy” was perfect for congregational singing. We did perform it with handbells, organ and congregation and what a beautiful sound! Blessings to the music ministry at Faith and we are happy to sent a donation to sharing music ministry.

    • Ruth,

Thanks for posting your choir and congregation’s use of “Holy, Holy, Holy”. I’m honored that it was a blessing to all there are your church.

And thank you very much for the gracious donation to our music ministry here at Faith.

May the LORD continue to richly bless your music program.

  5. Thanks so much! I recently inherited the handbell choir and am sorta scrambling for music. This is helping us a ton. HOLY HOLY HOLY: What key change? Someone mentioned a key change. I just see it in the Key of D. Is there an arrangement that modulates to a new key?

    • Mary Beth,

Thank you for your comment. I wish you only the best in your new adventure of leading a handbell choir! Enjoy the music and team efforts.

Ruth’s comment about key change on Holy, Holy, Holy from their request for a bell arrangement to be in a different key so that it was compatible with their hymnal.

      Arnold
